LOG HOME KITS

We sell log home kits for a company that has been in the log home industry for many years.  Their management staff has a combined 70 years of log home experience.  Their drafting department can provide modification assistance on their 25 standard plans, but also has the flexibility to design and customize the home of your choice.  We really like the possibility of either providing our own plans or modifying one of their plans.

These kits are ideal for the do-it-yourself person, which makes it possible for them to save lots of money!  Even though this kit provides only the outside walls, it is still much faster and more economical than a stick-built house; as once the walls are up, windows and doors in, and the roof on, all that's left are the interior dividing walls.  Imagine the shell of your house going up in possibly less than a week's time!

We had a good friend 'do his math' to see if the log home kits were really a good deal.  His report was that they came out about even in cost, but then considering how quickly the kit can go up, it saves a bundle of time and money!!

WHY BUY OUR LOG HOMES?

  1. ENERGY EFFICIENT... When properly constructed they offer any insulation envelope desired. The logs are estimated to have up to 6 times the insulating capacity of brick with equal thickness.

Kiln-dried, 6" H x 8" W, heart-of-the-tree logs provide exterior siding, structure, insulation and interior paneling all-in-one.  Treated for decay and insect resistance.  (See the FAQ page for more details.)  Less expensive and easy to work with. Native - acclimated to this region.

  4. 25 STANDARD DESIGNS or CUSTOMIZE to your specifications. Commercial designing is also available.

The Southern Yellow Pine grown in NC is one of the best choices of wood for this area, as it is acclimated to our climate and has the following advantages:

  • Beautifies as it ages
  • Good insulating properties
  • Moderately hard, stiff, strong and shock resistant
  • Decay resistant
  • Higher density (holds fasteners well)
  • Little shrinkage and movement
